Mysore/Mysuru: A Divisional- level cane growers workshop has been organised by the Karnataka Cane Growers Association in co-ordination with Raitha Mitra Farmer Producers Company and Belagavi’s S. Nijalingappa Sugar Institute, in Mysuru tomorrow (Feb. 22), said Karnataka State Sugarcane Growers Association President Kurubur Shanthakumar. The workshop will be held at Chetan Garden behind Race Course in city. Association Gen. Secretary Veeranagouda Patil will inaugurate the workshop.
Maharashtra’s ‘Raitha Ratna’ awardee Dr. Sanjeev Maane, who has the record of growing 168 tonnes of sugarcane in an acre at his farmland in Maharashtra, will take part as a guest and share his experiences.
S. Nijalingappa Sugar Institute Director Dr. Khandagavi will deliver a talk on sugarcane cultivation. Hundreds of farmers from Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar and other districts are expected to attend the workshop.
