Mysore/Mysuru: As part of its 20th annual celebrations, Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Mysuru, has organised Music Concerts, Tyagaraja and Purandara Dasa Aradhana Mahotsava at Alwar Kalabhavana in Gokulam 3rd Stage, from Feb. 23 to 27:

Feb. 23 (6 pm): Birth Centenary Celebration of Bharata Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi. Inauguration by Amshi Prasannakumar, Executive Editor, Kannada Prabha. Dr. N. Chandrashekar, Managing Director, Aditya Hospital, Gokulam, will be the chief guest. B.S. Sridhara Raj Urs, President, Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, will preside over the programme.

Portrait unveiling and Hindustani Music. Vocal concert by Pt. Ramesh Kolkunda accompanied by Pt. Keshav Joshi on tabla and Pt. Yagnesh Bhagavat on harmonium.

Feb. 24 (6 pm): On account of Sangeetha Kala Shikhamani Piteel Chowdiah’s Jayanti celebration, Vid. K.J. Dileep and Vidu. Ila Sangeetha Dileep will present a Violin Duet. They will be accompanied by Vid. S.P. Nagendra Prasad on mridanga and Vid. Sunaad                                            Anoor on kanjira.

Feb. 25 (6 pm): As part of Maharaja Sri Chamaraja Wadiyar X Jayanti celebration, Gamaka Vaachana on ‘Srikrishna Bhedhopaya’ from Karnataka Bharatha Kathamanjari. Kavya Vaachana: Vidu. Vasantha Venkatesh (Artiste of Akashvani, Mysuru); Vyakhyaana: Vid. Kripa Manjunath.

Feb. 26 (6 pm): Memorial Music Concert by Vidu. M.R. Sudha (Vocal). She will be                  accompanied by Vid. M.D. Arjun on violin, Vid. P.S. Sridhar on mridanga and Vid. V.S. Ramesh on morching. [Sponsored by C.M. Muniramappa & family.]

Feb. 27 (9.30 am): Tyagaraja & Purandaradasara Aradhana Mahotsava — Ghosti Gayana followed by vocal music by Vid. R.S. Nandakumar accompanied by Vid. H.S. Thandava Murthy on violin, Vid. G.S. Ramanujan on mridanga and Vid. Jayaram on ghata.
