The photograph under the caption “Not mist, but a smoke screen” by freelance photographer G. S. Ravishankar published in SOM dated Aug.10 on Page-11, was simply outstanding.

With its ethereal quality imparted by the sunlight streaming through the smoke and the perfect timing with which even a cyclist has been included, it reminded me of some of the works of the great French photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson, who believed that capturing the ‘Decisive Moment’ was what made an outstanding photograph. My congratulations to Ravishankar !
