CAR bags ‘Team Championship’ in City Police Sports Meet

City Armed Reserve (CAR) Police team bagged the ‘Team Championship’ at the three-day Annual City Police Sports Meet which concluded on Sunday at CAR Parade Grounds here.

Mylari of K.R. Sub-Division and Rathnamma of Devaraja Sub-Division won the ‘Individual Championship’ in the Men’s and Women’s category respectively.

Officers’ Badminton 

Doubles

1st Prize: FPB ACP Rajashekar and CCB Inspector Shashikumar; 2nd: CAR Inspector K.M. Murthy and CoP ASI Sridhar.

Badminton Singles

1st: CCB Inspector Shashikumar; 2nd: Jagadish; 3rd: CoP ASI Sridhar.

200 mts Running Race

1st: Mylari of K.R. Sub-Division; 2nd: Vijayashankar of CAR;  3rd: Dinesh.

1st: K. Sunil of CAR; 2nd: M.P.  Harsha of Devaraja Sub-Division; 3rd: Ravikumar of CAR.

Long-Jump

1st: Vijayashankar of CAR; 2nd: Mylari of K.R. Sub-Division; 3rd: Amarnath of Special Wing.

High Jump

1st: Vijayshankar of CAR; 2nd: Mylari of K.R. Sub-Division; 3rd: B.D. Dinesh of CAR.

Shot-Put

1st: Shantakumar of Traffic Police; 2nd: Arokiaraj of CAR; 3rd: Harsha of Devaraja Sub-Division.

Hammer Throw

1st: N. Manju of CAR; 2nd: Arokiaraj of CAR; 3rd: Naveen of Devaraja Sub-Division.

Javelin Throw

1st: Yusuf Ali of K.R. Sub-Division; 2nd: Hanumanthu of CAR; 3rd: Ramanna.

Mylari of K.R. Sub-Division was declared ‘The Fastest Runner’ of the event, followed by Vijayashankar of CAR and Amarnath of K.R. Sub-Division.

100 mts Running Race

1st: Bindu of N.R. Sub-Division; 2nd: Jyothi of K.R. Sub-Division; 3rd: Shwetha of N.R. Sub-Division.

200 mts Running Race

1st: Bindu of N.R. Sub-Division; 2nd: Shwetha; 3rd: Mallige.

Long Jump

1st: Rathnamma of Devaraja Sub-Division; 2nd: Bindu of N.R. Sub-Division; 3rd: Nagaveni of K.R. Sub-Division.

Discus throw

Principal District and Sessions Court Judge Ramachandra D. Huddar, who spoke after distributing the prizes, said that winning or losing is part of sports. 

Pointing out that participation with confidence is more important than winning, he stressed on the need for taking win or loss in a true sportsman’s spirit. Complimenting the Police personnel for taking part in the sports event in large numbers, despite work pressure, he wished the participants more success in the future at State and National level Meets.
