A Maruti Dzire car (KA-03-MV-8366) parked at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) in Vasanth Mahal premises was completely destroyed in fire today.

The car belonged to one Shivakumar, a Government High School teacher at Hassan. Shivakumar had come to Vasanth Mahal to attend a seminar and had parked the car at 10 am. At about 1 pm, the car caught fire and Bannimantap Fire Brigade personnel, who rushed to the spot, managed to douse the fire and prevented it from spreading further.
