Carcass of tiger found in Nagarahole

Hunsur: A carcass of a tiger, suspected to have died following a fight with another tiger, has been found in Nagarahole Tiger Reserve.

The dead tiger is aged between 7 and 8 years and the carcass was found at Hebbal border of Yelele Chowdamma Beat at Mathigod Range of Nagarahole Tiger Reserve and it is suspected that the tiger may have died about a week back.

Nagarahole Project Tiger Director D. Mahesh Kumar, Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) A.V. Satish and staff visited the spot.

Veterinarian Dr. Mujeeb Rehaman conducted post-mortem in the presence of National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) Member Bose Mandanna and Coorg Wildlife Society Dilan Mandanna. 

Anechowkur Range Forest Officer (RFO) Kiran Kumar and staff were present.
