Some ATMs dispense only Rs.2,000 currencies
Mysuru: A few cash deposit machines at various ATM centres installed by nationalised banks to help customers deposit cash to their accounts have become defunct thus inconveniencing the bank customers. One such cash deposit machine where ‘No Deposit’ board is put up on the machine is at the ATM centre of a Nationalised Bank, opposite Jayamma Govindegowda Kalyana Mantap in Kuvempunagar.
Following complaints from customers that the machine was not accepting cash, not counting the currency notes properly and depositing less money to the account, the Bank authorities have stopped operating the cash deposit machine and have put up ‘No Deposit’ board there.
This apart, cash deposit machines at the same bank’s branches at Tilaknagar, Siddarthanagar and in Kalyangiri stop working frequently and even a few cash dispensing machines (ATMs) dispense only Rs.2,000 currencies thus putting their own customers into hardship.
This is leading to a lot of working class persons taking leave or obtaining permission from the offices to deposit cash by going to the bank itself. The customers have urged the authorities concerned of the bank to set right the machines at the earliest.
