Cauvery Cancer Centre holds Head and Neck Cancer Survivors Meet

Mysore/Mysuru: Cauvery Cancer Centre (CCC), Mysuru, has treated more than 500 patients in the last 5 years and 40-45 percent of the above patients belonged to head and neck cancer group. Thanks to the Cancer Centre team which achieved 90 percent cure rate. 

To commemorate this good recovery rate, Cauvery Cancer Centre celebrated World Head and Neck Cancer Day by organising a “Head and Neck Cancer Survivors Group Meet” at Cauvery Heart and Multi-Speciality Hospital in Siddarathanagar here on July 28. About 35 patients who have completed the treatment attended the meet. 

Dr. Sunil Muddaiah, Chairman of Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences, Virajpet, was the chief guest. Dr. Javeed Nayeem, Senior Physician and President, MAHAN, was the guest of honour. They motivated the cancer survivors to continue to have a healthy lifestyle. 

Dr. G.R. Chandrashekar, Chairman of Cauvery Heart and Multi-Speciality Hospital,  who presided, stressed on the importance of preventive measures in cancer. 

An informative brochure regarding head and neck cancers was released on the occasion. Certificate of appreciation was given to all cancer survivors.  Later an interactive session was held with all the Consultants of Cancer Centre. 

Dr. Sarala Chandrashekar, Managing Director, Dr. B.N. Rajeeva, Medical Superintendent, Dr. M.S. Girish, Consultant Oncosurgeon, Dr. R.M. Aravind, Consultant Laparoscopic Surgeon and Sandeep Patel, Facility Director, Cauvery Hospital, were present during the event.
