Srirangapatna: The Cauvery Mahapushkara Mela will be held from Sept. 12 to 23 at Sopanakatte on the banks of River Cauvery at Srirangapatna.

The Mela is being organised by Shashwathi Dharmika Kriya Samithi, Mysuru City and District Brahmana Sangha, DTS Foundation, Abhinava Bharatha and Simhabhoomi Sangha.

A variety of programmes have been planned as part of the Mela. Pavagada Prakash, Chakravarthi Sulibele and Hiremagaluru Kannan will conduct the programmes.

The event will also feature a grand procession of various Mutt Seers, felicitation of Mysuru royal family members and family members of Sir M. Visvesvaraya who built the KRS dam. Many contests including debates, essay writing, drawing and painting competition, marathons etc. will be held as part of the event.  

Mandya District in-charge Minister M. Krishnappa and other peoples representatives will attend the Mela on Sept. 12.
