‘Cauvery River Festival’ in Kushalnagar on Nov.29, 30

‘Cauvery River Festival’ will be organised by Cauvery Maha Arathi Balaga, Cauvery Nadhi Swachhatha Andolana and Cauvery River Seva Trust on Nov.29 and 30 on the banks of River Cauvery in Kushalnagar. Disclosing this at a press meet here on Monday, Trust’s M.N. Chandramohan recalled that the Balaga has been performing Arathi to River Cauvery on the full moon day of every month for the last nine years and added that the festival marks the completion of 100 arathis. He said that a conference will be held on Nov.29 at 11am to be attended by Salumarada Thimmakka, founder of Yuva Brigade Chakravarty Sulibelee, retired officer of Geological Survey of India Dr.H.S.M. Prakash and others. Cultural programme will be held in the evening. Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji and heads of other Mutts will grace the occasion. On Nov.30, a cleanliness drive has been organised followed by a tree-planting programme. A bhajan session is organised in the evening, he added.
