Mysuru: Speaking to Star of Mysore, Mohammad Sharif Rawathar, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), City Crime Branch (CCB), said that two separate cases have been registered against accused Chinnathambi alias Soundararajan.

“One case has been registered under the Karnataka Protection of Interest of Depositors in Financial Establishments (KPID) Act, while the other is a regular criminal case. The team is preparing the charge-sheet,” he said.

He said, the Courts had earlier directly handled the attachment of properties in such cases. However, to reduce the burden on the Judiciary, an Assistant Commissioner (AC)-level officer has now been appointed to oversee the valuation and seizure of the accused’s assets. The process is currently             underway, he added.

“All related proceedings are taking place in Bengaluru and there has been no delay. We have not received any call from the CM’s Office,” he said.
