Sir,
With reference to the news item titled “CCTV cameras at Mysuru Railway Station are broken and gathering dust” published in Star of Mysore dated Nov. 20, the following clarification is issued in the interest of presenting correct information to passengers and the general public:
All CCTV cameras installed at Mysuru Railway Station are functional. Whenever any technical issue arises, it is immediately attended to by the Signal & Telecommunication (S&T) staff and the system is restored without delay. The cameras are under continuous monitoring and maintenance to ensure their proper operation.
Further, to enhance the security and surveillance system at Mysuru Railway Station, 150 additional new CCTV cameras are being procured. The procurement process is in an advanced stage and will significantly strengthen station security once commissioned.
