Celebrate Life! Half Marathon held in city

Mysuru, Sept.8 (RKB&VNS)- More than 2,000 Mysureans took part in the 1st edition of Celebrate Life! Mysuru Half Marathon, 10K & 6K Run/ Walk event organised by Raadiant Sports, this morning. 

The event was organised for both men and women under the age groups 18-25 years, 26-35 years, 36-45 years, 46-60 years and 61 years and above. 

The Run was flagged off from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple at the Mysore Palace North Gate at 5.30 am today.

The Half Marathon, which was flagged off by international athlete Bharathi, passed through Gandhi Square, Sayyaji Rao Road, Dufferin Clock Tower, D.D. Urs Road, Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa Circle (Hotel Metropole Circle), Hunsur Road, Paduvarahalli Junction, Open Air Theatre, Premier Studio, SJCE College, Manasagangothri, All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), Radhakrishna Avenue, Government Press, Saraswathipuram Fire Brigade, Ekalavya Circle, Ramaswamy Circle, Chamaraja Double Road, Gun House, Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Circle and culminated at the flagging off location.

The 10K Run was flagged off by Jonathan, Senior Security Officer, White Clarke India Limited and the 6K Run/Walk was flagged off by Balasubramaniam, Race Director.

The finishers received customised finisher medals and timing certificate. All the participants were given T-shirts, Bibs (Timed for Half Marathon & 10K and non-timed for 6K) and Participant Information Document as part of the Participant Kit. 

Prior to the flag off, Zumba warm-up session was conducted by Shilpa, Saman and Keerthan of Bengaluru. Raadiant Sports Managing Partner P.B. Mithra, White Clarke India Limited Director Ramprasad, Apollo BGS Publicity Officer Daksh and others were present.

18-25 years — Men: 1. A. Ramanuja (1:37:07 sec), 2. Raghu Kumar (1:44:32 sec), 3. D. Tanmai (1:55:18 sec); Women: 1. R. Sushmitha (2:11:15 sec), 2. A. Bhavani (2:25:30 sec), M.M. Bhargavi (2:43:59 sec). 

26-35 years — Men: 1. Raman Kumar (1:31:51 sec), 2. Karthik Anand (1:34:11 sec), 3. Siva Sankaran Raj (1:37:03 sec); Women: 1. V. Sheela (2:32:34 sec), 2. K.N. Sowmyashree (2:35:03 sec), 3. Harshitha Anant (3:09:15 sec).

36-45 years — Men: 1. A.K. Sreejith (1:29:35 sec), 2. D. Dharmendra (1:32:64 sec), 3. L.M. Nagaraj (1:36:58 sec); Women: 1. Bhagawati (1:57:27 sec), 2. Heema Kaverappa (2:07:54 sec), 3. Muna Naheem (2:14:49 sec).

46-60 years — Men: 1. V.C. Venkatesh (1:40:27 sec), 2. S. Rajan (1:40:59 sec), 3. Sreedhar Mulagund (1:45:51 sec); Women: Priya Chinnappa (2:35:31 sec).

61 years and above — Men: 1. Koji Nishida (1:55:40 sec),  2. Vaidyanathan (2:43:26 sec).

16-25 years — Men: 1. Mahesh Kumar (39:46 sec), 2. K. Swaraj (42:03 sec), 3. J. Sandeep (42:04 sec); Women: 1. Sanjeevini (55:33 sec), 2. S. Poornashree (1:16:25 sec), 3. R. Supreetha (1:18:31).

26-35 years — Men: 1. Avinash Basavaraj (46:51 sec), 2. Raghavendra Rao (48:16), 3. Arvind Nair (51:18 sec); Women: 1. Nandini (57:35 sec), B.L. Bharathi (1:03:37 sec), 3. Seema Prakash (1:07:08 sec). 

36-45 years — Men: 1. B. Deepak (46:37 sec), 2. M.G. Shivanna (49:36 sec), 3. L.B. Vikram (50:40 sec); Women: 1. Neera Katwal (45:37 sec), 2. Savita Shastri (59:52 sec), 3. Chinmayee Pal (1:00:53 sec). 

46-60 years — Men: 1. Seetaram (49:11 sec), 2. Nagesh Dasappa (50:57 sec), 2. Vinod Koul (51:05 sec); Women: Anuradha Maligachari (52:59 sec), 2. Kiran Mai (1:15:24 sec), 3. Roopa Rao (1:15:57 sec).
