Celebration Mysuru Marathon in city on Sept.22

This year’s event to feature Full Marathon of 42 kms

The 9th edition of Celebration Mysuru Marathon, organised by Life is Calling Sports, will be held on Sept.22. This year, the organisers have introduced a full marathon which is 42 kilometres (42K Run) apart from the regular 6K Run/Walk, 10K Run, Half Marathon (21K Run) and 30K Run.

The theme for this year’s Celebration Mysuru Marathon is ‘Green Mysuru.’ As a part of the ‘Green Mysuru’ initiative, the organisers will distribute saplings to select participants.

Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji will grace the inaugural and MLA S.A. Ramdas will be present on the occasion.

Flag off timings

The full marathon (42K) event will be flagged off at 4.45 am from Mysore Palace North Gate (Balarama Gate), 30K Run at 5.45 am, Half Marathon (21K) at 6 am, 10K at 6.15 am and 6K Run/Walk at 6.40 am and for people who have never run can take part in the 6K Walk.

According to Race Director P.V. Sunil, more than 4,000 runners across all age groups (10-70 years) are expected to participate in the event. He also added that there will be live music bands and dance to boost up the confidence of the runners and also a live performance from singer and composer Vasu Dixit at the end of the event.

Running Bibs will be distributed to the registered participants on Sept.20 between 1 pm and 7 pm and on Sept.21 between 11 am to 7 pm. Running Bibs for 6K Run can be collected at select Kotak Mahindra Bank branches and for 10K, 21K, 30K and for Full Marathon participants, the running Bibs will be distributed in Decathlon, Mysuru.
