Five smartphones worth about Rs.1 lakh recovered

Mysuru: V.V. Puram Police have arrested a 24-year-old youth on charges of stealing smartphones and have recovered five phones worth about Rs.1 lakh from him.

The arrested is Ashoka, a resident of Madhuvanahalli, Ramanathapura hobli, Arakalgud taluk in Hassan district.

On May 28, Ashoka was trying to sell the stolen smartphones at throw-away prices on Kalidasa Road, when the V.V. Puram Police arrested him. The Police have also recovered one Samsung, one Vivo, one HTC, one Redmi Note 5 and one Spice smartphone, all worth about Rs.1 lakh from him.

DCP M. Muthuraj, and N.R. Sub-Division ACP Dharnesh supervised V.V. Puram Inspector H.N. Vinay and staff Somashekar, Prasanna, Eeranna, Divakar and Suresh in the nabbing and recovery operation.
