Centenary of Veerashaiva Anathalaya tomorrow

Mysuru: Veerashaiva Anathalaya as part of its centenary celebrations has organised a function tomorrow at 10 am at Rajendra Kalamandira on Ramanuja Road here. 

Veerashaiva Anathalaya  Trust President M. Rajashekar said that Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji and Kuderu Mutt Seer Sri Gurushanta Swamiji will grace the occasion. 

Retired DGP L. Revanasiddaiah will inaugurate. MLA S.A. Ramdas will release a commemorative volume. Karnataka Sahitya Academy Chairman Dr. B.V. Vasanthkumar, Corporators B.V. Manjunath and N. Sunil Kumar will be the chief guests.

Anathalaya was established in 1918 by late Veeramma, wife of late Bhadrappa and daughter of late Kariyanna. In 1937 late Gurubasappa though visually impaired could understand the plight of poor students in society and through a will donated his movable and immovable property to the Anathalaya which strengthened the institution to become a boon for poor students.
