Central Excise India F2 $15,000 Men’s Tennis: City’s Suraj Prabodh shocks Germany’s Sami Reinwein

Qualifier Suraj R. Prabodh from Mysuru, representing India in the India F2 Futures $15,000 ITF Men’s Tennis Tourney in Kolkata, continued his good form to score a upset win over eight seeded German Sami Reinwein 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 and entered the quarter-finals in the Men’s Singles event yesterday.

In a tie which lasted for two hours and sixteen minutes, Suraj came back strongly after losing the first set at 4-6 and took the next two sets to register a upset win. He had a 66% of his first serves in while his rival could have a percentage of only 44. Suraj won 86% of his service games to his rival’s 67%.

Suraj Prabodh, coached by Milos Pavlovic at the Harvest Tennis Academy, Jassowal, in the previous round had scored a good win over Serbia’s Goran Markovic 4-6, 7-6 (6), 6-3.

In the quarter-finals, Suraj Prabodh will meet India’s Karunuday Singh today.
