Bengaluru: As Karnataka prepares to take on the possible third wave of COVID attack, which is predicted to happen in a couple of months, Health Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar said that the Centre has provided a financial assistance of Rs.1,500 crore for tackling the deadly virus.

Speaking after launching the vaccination drive at a Private Hospital in Bengaluru’s Jayanagar  yesterday,  Dr. Sudhakar said the State Government is aware of the co-operation extended by Private Hospitals when the pandemic broke out last year. 

Maintaining that the State Government is making all possible efforts to ensure that Karnataka becomes a model State in health care, he said that the support of Private Hospitals was vital in this regard.

Pointing out that the Union Government has set aside Rs.23,000 crore in case of a third wave, out of which Karnataka has got Rs.1,500 crore, he said that a major portion of this money will be used for upgrading paediatric health care as the third wave is predicted to affect children   the most.
