Mysuru: The Central Government has lauded the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) for its large-scale waste clearance drive on C.V. Road, highlighting the effort on its official Swachh Bharat Mission Urban page.

As part of the 80th Independence Day Swachhata Abhiyan, the Corporation undertook the campaign under the theme “Clean C.V. Road, Healthy Living.” The operation cleared nearly 83 tonnes of garbage from the Chikka Veeranna Road (C.V. Road) area in Bannimantap.

The drive was attended by Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy, MCC Commissioner M.K. Savitha and several civic officials.

Sharing photographs of the campaign, the Central Government said that as India prepares to celebrate its 80th Independence Day, Mysuru is advancing the vision of ‘freedom from waste’ through its initiative to create 80 garbage-free zones.

The clearance of 83 tonnes of waste at Chikka Veeranna Road, it noted, strengthens the spirit of Swachh Bharat.
