CESC Lineman electrocuted

Hunsur: A CESC lineman, who was undertaking repair works was electrocuted at Hosapura village, Bilikere hobli in the taluk yesterday. The deceased is Karinaika (51), a resident of Benkipura village in Bilikere. His assistant Prashanth, who suffered serious injuries, has been admitted to a Hospital in Mysuru.

Karinaika, serving as 2nd Grade Mechanic at CESC, was repairing a transformer near Hosapura under Challahalli Gram Panchayat limits on Monday afternoon, when he was electrocuted and died on the pole.

CESC Executive Engineer Sunil and AEE Vijayarathna who visited the spot said that the exact reason for the incident will be known only after an investigation. A case has been registered at Bilikere Police Station.
