Candidates may apply online before Jan.5 for free capacity-building programmes
Mysore/Mysuru: CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysuru, is conducting capacity-building programmes to inculcate entrepreneurship and technical skills in food processing for aspiring and existing entrepreneurs belonging to SC and ST communities, which is sponsored by National SC-ST Hub, Ministry of MSME, Government of India.
The training programmes are conducted at CFTRI, Mysuru, between Jan.18 and Mar.12, in five areas of food processing — Nutri-cereal processes and products; Traditional sugar confectionery and sensory science concepts for product development; Entrepreneurship development programme on the processing of spices, coffee and tea; Wheat milling and baking technology; Fruit and vegetable technologies for value addition.
Each programme has a maximum intake of 20 candidates. Candidates can apply for a maximum of three training programmes, but the nomination will be considered only for one training programme after screening the application.
Candidates with a minimum 12th pass or graduates in science and interested in starting their own food business or working in the food processing industry will be preferred. Preference is given to the candidates from local and nearby districts.
Interested candidates may apply by filling the online form available at: www.cftri.res.in before Jan.5. There is no course fee for this programme. However, candidates have to bear their travel and accommodation expenses.
