Chain snatcher arrested

Mysore/Mysuru: The Udayagiri Police, in a swift action, have arrested the chain snatcher who had allegedly yanked off a gold chain from an elderly woman, within a day of the crime.

Fayaz Pasha, a resident of Ghousianagar in the city is the man arrested.

Pasha was picked up by Udayagiri Police when he was suspiciously moving about trying to sell a gold chain near a pawn broker’s shop at Ghousianagar on Jan.23.

During interrogation, he confessed to have snatched the chain from the woman who was sitting in front of a community hall at Kyathamaranahalli on Jan.22. Later, the gold chain, weighing 20 grams was also recovered from him.

Pasha has now been remanded to judicial custody.
