Chain snatcher arrested: 40-gram gold bar recovered

Mysore/Mysuru: NR Police have arrested a chain snatcher, who was allegedly involved in a chain snatching case reported on May 16 on Kamanakere Hundi Road.

According to a press release, the Police on suspicion took the accused, who was travelling on a two-wheeler sans number plate in Tanveer Sait Nagar into custody for questioning on May 23. Further, the release said, the accused confessed to have been involved in the chain snatching reported on May 16 during which he had snatched a 40 gram gold chain worth Rs. 2 lakh from a woman when she was travelling to work.

Based on the information, the Police recovered a 40 gram gold bar along with the scooter. Later, the accused was produced before the Court which remanded him to judicial custody.
