43-gram gold mangalya chain, four two-wheelers worth Rs. 5.13 lakh recovered

Mysuru: Saraswathipuram Police have arrested a chain snatcher who along with his accomplice had snatched a gold mangalya chain from a woman who was walking on the 1st Cross in Basaveshwaranagar on Oct. 14.

Acting on a tip off and technical information, the Police, who were on their regular patrolling on Bogadi Ring Road, arrested the accused near Nagalingeshwara Temple and recovered the 43-gram gold mangalya chain worth Rs. 2,62,200 and four two-wheelers worth Rs. 2,51,000 from him. The Police have launched a hunt to nab another accused, who is absconding.

DCP (Crime and Traffic) S. Jahnavi and Vijayanagar Sub-Division ACP Gajendra Prasad, guided Saraswathipuram Inspector J. Purushotham, Sub-Inspectors S.S. Latha and T.S. Mahendra and staff Mohankumar, Kumar, Sudeepkumar, Rakshitkumar, Chandrashekar, Rajesh and Technical Division’s Kumar in the nabbing and recovery operation.
