Chain-snatcher nabbed

Mysuru:  Mysuru Rural Police have yesterday arrested a 24-year-old man for his alleged involvement in chain-snatching in various places across the city and have seized 30 grams gold chain from him.

Ziya, a resident of Ghousianagar, was taken into custody when he was roaming around in a suspicious manner at Ramabai Nagar. During interrogation, he is said to have confessed to have snatched two 30 gm gold chains.

Following cases of chain-snatching being registered at IPS Nagar and BSNL Layout, the Police had kept a close watch on miscreants and were successful in nabbing Ziya. Mysuru Rural Police have registered a case in this regard.

Woman robbed

In another incident of chain-snatching reported from Udayagiri on Oct. 26, three bike-borne miscreants, who approached a woman heading towards a park in front of her house for an evening walk, made away with her 50 gram gold chain.

Vatsala of SBM Layout in Udayagiri is the victim. Udayagiri Police have registered a case in this regard.
