State-level PU Volleyball Tourney for Boys & Girls: Double crown for Dakshina Kannada

Dakshina Kannada (DK) spikers in the boys and girls section hogged the limelight by clinching the title in the State-level PU Boys and Girls Volleyball Tourney 2017-18, conducted by the Department of Pre-University Education, Mysuru, at St. Philomena’s College Grounds here on Saturday.

In the PU boys final, DK, helped by some inspiring play by Sourav D. Kulal and Pavan Kumar, registered a 25-13, 25-6 win over Udupi and clinched the title.

In the women’s section, excellent play by Spoorthi and Salithya enabled DK to register a 25-21, 25-11 win over Bangalore North and clinch the title.

Boys — Finals: DK bt Udupi 25-13, 25-6; Semi-finals: DK bt Bangalore South 25-16, 27-25; Udupi bt Mysuru 16-25, 25-16, 15-12; Girls — Final: DK bt Bangalore North 25-21, 25-11; Semi-final: Bangalore North bt Koppala 25-14, 25-22; DK bt Belagavi 25-14, 26-24.
