Rs. 17 lakh worth gold chains recovered

Mysuru: Laskhar Police have arrested three chain-snatchers including two women and have recovered four gold chains weighing 170 grams and worth Rs. 17 lakh from them. Those arrested are Sangeetha and Nagaraju from Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu and Jaya of Malur in Kolar district.

On May 17, a gold chain of one Bhagyamma of Hirisave was snatched at Sub-Urban Bus Stand and a case was registered at Lashkar Police Station. Inspector Prasad, who conducted an operation, was successful in nabbing the three accused.

During interrogation, the accused are said to have revealed that they had also snatched gold chains from passengers at City Bus Stand. Based on the information provided by the accused, Police recovered four gold chains worth Rs. 17 lakh from them.

DCP (Crime and Traffic) K.S. Sundar Raj and Devaraja Sub-Division ACP Rajendra guided Lashkar Inspector Prasad, Sub-Inspector Radha, ASI Suresh and staff Ravikumar, Manjunath, Abdul Rehaman, Chowdappa, Kumar and Ashwini in the nabbing operation.
