Mysuru: Burglars have decamped with cash and gold jewellery worth lakhs of rupees from a house.
The burglary took place at the house of Madappa on Marigudi Street at Chikkahalli village.
On May 16, Madappa and his wife Mangalamma left for Mantralaya and upon returning on May 18, they found the front door of the house forcibly opened. On entering the house, they found the clothes kept in the wardrobe in the bedroom ransacked and gold ornaments worth Rs. 3 lakh and Rs. 4.80 lakh cash missing.
It is said that before going to Mantralaya, they had kept the keys of the wardrobe under the bed and the burglars who somehow found the keys, opened the wardrobe and made away with gold ornaments and cash kept in it.
Alanahalli Police, who have registered a case, have suspected insider’s hand behind the burglary.
