ChaMUL to resume milk supply to Bhutan, Nepal soon

Chamarajanagar: Chamarajanagar District Co-Operative Milk Producers Societies Union Limited (ChaMUL) is making preparations to resume milk supply to Nepal and Bhutan.

Came into existence three years ago at Kuderu village in Chamarajanagar taluk, this Dairy has hogged limelight by exporting ‘Nandini Milk’ to two foreign nations. 

The milk supply to Nepal and Bhutan that was stopped due to Corona crisis a few months ago, will resume in next two to three days. 

ChaMUL was exporting milk to Bhutan under the brand ‘Goodlife Gold’, said Rajashekarmurthy, Managing Director, ChaMUL.

He said the Dairy has received order from the Bhutan Government for supplying 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh litres of milk every month. 

Similarly, 3 lakh to 4 lakh litres of ‘Goodlife Gold’ milk is supplied to Assam Rifles every month, 10 lakh to 12 lakh litres of Ultra High Temperature (UHT) milk is sent to Andhra Pradesh every month under the brand name ‘Vijaya Vajra’ and 3 lakh to 4 lakh litre of UHT milk to Telangana every month.

The MD said that ChaMUL manufactures a variety of milk like Nandini Goodlife, Nandini Goodlife Gold, Nandini Slim, Nandini Smart, Nandini Suraksha and Vijaya Vajra. All of them are UTH milk. Under this process, the milk is boiled at 135 degree centigrade temperature, kept in the same condition for 15 seconds and then cooled in 4 degree centigrade temperature. Then, it is packed in six layer pack which has a shelf life of six months. After bifurcated from MYMUL, the ChaMUL has a rare distinction of supplying milk to two foreign nations, and several States, he added.
