Cheluvamba Hospital Pourakarmikas stage protest for wages

February 10, 2017

Claiming that they were not   paid wages for the past 6 months, more than 60 contract pourakarmikas working at Cheluvamba Hospital, staged a demonstration against the   outsourcing agency in front of the hospital premises this  morning.

The pourakarmikas alleged that their employer M/s Cauvery Enterprises, Hebbal had not paid wages to them for nearly 6 months.

Maintaining that they have continued to work despite non-payment of wages, they urged the outsourcing agency to clear the pending wages. Meanwhile, Cauvery Enterprises Proprietor Ramachandra said that the Cheluvamba Hospital authorities had not settled his bill for 10 months and as such his agency could not pay the pourakarmikas. Several representations to the MMC&RI Dean, hospital RMO and other authorities to clear the bill have gone in vain, he said and added that pending wages will be paid once the bill is cleared.
