An excellent hat-trick by left-out Kei Nikum (35th, 40th & 45th minutes), and a self goal by Moin Khan (25th), helped De Paul FGC to register a facile 4-0 win over VVFGC, Mysuru and enter the second round in the Chief Justice Hombegowda Memorial Gold Cup University of Mysore’s Inter-Collegiate Football Tournament 2018, which began at the University Football Grounds here yesterday morning.
In the other first round matches, MICA, Mysuru, scored a 4-0 win over Yuvaraja’s College, Mysuru. A brace by centre-forward Kiran (21, 42) and a goal each by Rakesh (33) and Muthalik (36) helped them to register a good win.
St. Joseph’s FGC, Hassan, scored a narrow 1-0 win over Maharaja’s College, Mysuru. The winning goal was scored by Charles in 25th minute of the game. In another tie, PES (Mandya) scored a 3-0 win (by penalties) over St. Joseph’s FGC, after being level 0-0 at full time. Suman, Girish and Sanjay scored penalties for the winner.
