Child labourers rescued from scrap yard

Mysuru:  The officials of the Labour Department (children unit), Children Special Unit and Child Helpline, along with City Crime Branch (CCB) and Lashkar Police, have rescued seven children working as child labourers at various shops in the scrap yard near Suburban Bus Stand and have registered cases against the owners who had employed the children.

Cases have been registered against shop owners Syed Farhan, Noor, Gulzar Shariff, Naavin, Mustafa, Ajju and Noor Mohammed.

The officials and the Police raided the shops following information that the owners of a few shops at the scrap yard had employed children as labourers.
