Mysuru:  After two months of summer vacation, schools across the district reopened from this morning.

While some students attired in their new uniforms on the first day of reopening were happy to return to school after a long gap, students of kindergarten and various primary schools were seen crying and being pacified by their parents.

Some private and CBSE syllabus schools had already reopened last week.

Sources in Department of Public Instruction (DPI) told SOM that district has 3,457 primary and High Schools including Government, aided, private (unaided) and Social Welfare Department-run schools. Of the 2,147 Government Schools, 1,915 are elementary schools and 232 are high schools.
