Chinnara Mela: Children taken on plant tour

Mysuru  – The children at the Chinnara Mela summer camp were yesterday taken on a ride into the world of Botany with students and faculty of Department of Studies in Botany, University of Mysore headed by Prof. G.R. Janardhan  introducing them to various plants and also enlightening them about conservation of plants.

Students of the Botany Department explained the curious children about various plant  varieties grown in different weather conditions including the temperate conditions, aquatic plants, desert plants, plants grown in salt waters, algae, millets, vegetables, bio-diesel plants, medicinal plants, aromatic plants and others.
