‘Chinnara Natakotsava’ to conclude this evening

Mysuru: The three-day Chinnara Natakotsava titled Angulahulada Ananthayana, organised as part of the ongoing Chinnara Mela at Vanaranga in Rangayana premises here, will conclude this evening.

The Chinnara Natakotsava commenced on Sunday evening at Vanaranga in Rangayana premises here with the children collectively rendering the song Neenu Ninnanthagu. Over 400 children also sang Kalisu guruve kalisu dancing to the rhythm.

The children later enacted short plays picked up through 30 short stories with contemporary topics, receiving a thunderous applause from the audience giving due credit for the kids’ incredible performance which could surprise even adult artistes.

B.P. Arun and designer Umesh Maddanahalli were felicitated on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Kannada and Culture Assistant Director K.M. Janaki contended that literature, art and theatre have an integral relationship. She said that extra-curricular activities too are learning platforms. However, she advised the participating kids to retain and nurture the talents identified in the camp.

Rangayana Director Bhagirathi Bai Kadam presided. ZP CEO K. Jyothi, Rangayana Joint Director V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy, former Rangayana Director H. Janardhan, camp convenor Dwarkanath, Geetha and others were present.
