October 4, 2026

Mysuru: The winners of painting contest on Dasara, organised as part of ChitraSanthe at Manasagangothri campus, were distributed cycles as prize yesterday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner M.K. Savitha, who is also ChitraSanthe Committee President, said that the MCC is striving to keep Mysuru, the cultural capital of the State, clean and tidy.

Underlining the importance of waste segregation at source, she said that the Corporation has given due importance for environmental conservation.

Regretting that indiscreet dumping of waste will be a setback for promoting the concept of ‘Clean City,’ Savitha said that the painting contest was organised for creating awareness on maintaining cleanliness among school and college students.

The painting contest was held with dual themes — ‘NammaMysuruDasara’ and ‘SwachhaMysuruDasara.’ More than 70 students from 8th standard to PUC took part in the contest.
