Mysuru: Retired Editor of Kannada Encyclopaedia of University of Mysore and Senior Writer S. Chennappa has been selected for this year’s Sir M.V. National Literary Award instituted by Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya Prathishtana, Bengaluru, in recognition of Chennappa’s contribution to Kannada literature. 

He has written many books with significant contribution to biography and children’s literature. He has won the Karnataka Sahitya Academy award and has also been honoured by Karnataka State Education and Research Directorate. His books have been translated to other languages too.
