Mysuru, Oct. 29- Dr. R.S. Umakanth, Professor, Department of Sericulture Science, Manasagangothri, Mysuru, has been selected for the prestigious ‘Raast Fellowship Award 2025’ for his commendable contributions to research and teaching in the field of ‘Biochemical Genetics of Silkworm and Breeding’ from Western Ghat Researcher Association for Agricultural Sciences and Technology.

The award will be conferred on him during the International Conference ‘AGRI TECHNOVA 2025’ to be held on Dec. 19 at Madurai, Tamil Nadu.

In addition to teaching and research work, Dr. Umakanth is serving as Director of Information & Communication Division (ICD), Co-ordinator of e-Procurement Cell and Nodal Officer in the Office of Unified University and College Management System (UUCMS) & Examination Branch, University of Mysore.
