Christians urge MP for Mysuru-Velankanni train

Mysore/Mysuru: Members of the Christian community have urged Mysuru-Kodagu MP Prathap Simha for a direct train from Mysuru to Velankanni.

Velankanni is one of the most visited pilgrim centres in South India, with several lakhs of footfalls. It is a town situated on the shores of Bay of Bengal at Nagapatnam district in Tamil Nadu, where renowned shrine Basilica of Our Lady of Health draws pilgrims from all over the world.”

On Monday, members of Mysuru Division Catholic Christian Association and Mysore Province Christians Welfare Association, who met the MP, submitted a memorandum seeking the direct train.

The memorandum was submitted under the leadership of Mysuru Division Catholic Christian Association President J.  Sujith Stephen.

Association office-bearers Elwin, John Fernandes Benna, Ambrose George, Maria Francis, Stalin Jiglar, Prashanth Arogyaraj, Santosh, Dominic, Mari Joseph, Chinnappa, Fredrick D’Souza and Simon were present.
