Mysuru: Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME), Bengaluru, President Prof. J. Phillip, citing his vast experience in the field of restructuring and redesigning the curriculum, said that restructuring curriculum  happens automatically without much protocols involved, since it will involve concentrating on bringing in more privatisation-centric administration of colleges and Universities.

He was speaking at the two-day workshop on ‘Restructuring and Redesigning the Curriculum to meet Industry Needs’ organised by the CII Southern Region, in partnership with SDM-IMD and National Skills Network (NSN) being the online Media Partner, here recently and said that this will help in removing the barriers of recruiting foreign faculties where exchange of faculties in India and abroad play a key role.   

Prof. Balasubramanian, Director, GRG Centre for Advanced Studies, Coimbatore, mentioned that the CII years’ of work has been finally summed up with the Gateway called CII EDU GATEWAY (www.ciiedugateway.org) that will provide solution for all education needs.

CII is designing more components for faculties such as In-sync with Industry — A faculty enrichment program in tie-up with industries aiming to bridge industry — institute gap and enhancing interactions, he said.

CII Mysuru Chairman Arjun Ranga said that the faculties play a very critical role in moulding the students and their careers and as there is huge advancements in the technology, the teachers must adopt to their unique styles of teaching.

“There is a need to recognise the knowledge, skills and productivity of our growing young and dynamic workforce, which forms the backbone of our economy. In order to reap the benefits of such a young workforce, the educational institutions need to implement the reforms in the education system and also bring forth new factors of production, namely knowledge, skills and technology, which have the ability to breach the productive frontiers of the economy in the most efficient and dynamic way,” he said.

The programme focused on bringing in faculties from autonomous institutions. This is the second batch of the workshop which CII Southern Region is organising and with many streams of workshop designed by CII Southern Region Education Committee, the CII is planning to take it up to the Government for Policy level recommendations in restructuring the curriculum for higher education, according to a press release from CII, Mysuru.
