Citizens’ woes at MysoreOne Centre

April 1, 2019

Sir,

Queue up at 4.00 in the morning, if you want any services from MysoreOne Centre. Still better you sleep over there if you want to be sure of your work getting done. Doesn’t matter even if you are a senior citizen or physically challenged.

I am not talking about queuing up for tickets for a cricket match or for a sale of newly-launched phone ! I am talking about getting the services at MysoreOne.

My wife and I, both senior citizens, went to MysoreOne Centre at Gokulam on Mar. 20 at 7.30 to get the address change in our Aadhaar cards, only to return empty-handed as there was a queue of more than 60 people. The previous day we had inquired from the staff that the office opens at 9 am and they would entertain only the first 40 people.

I learn that such incidents  and problems of citizens have been highlighted in SOM a number of times in the past but no one has bothered to find a solution to this problem. Is the problem so unsurmountable?

If this is a problem related to shortage of manpower, is it then difficult to recruit some temporary staff until the workload is reduced to a manageable level?

As honest tax-payers, don’t we deserve a semblance of satisfactory service from the city administration?

By the way, we had been to Spandana Kendra at the DC’s Office before this, only to be told that we should go over there only after April.
