May 31, 2023

Mysore/Mysuru: Social Welfare Minister Dr. H. C. Mahadevappa was felicitated by Mysore City and  District Congress Committee at the party office here yesterday.

Dr. Mahadevappa, who came to the city for the first time after being sworn-in as the Minister, was felicitated by the party workers and well-wishers.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mahadevappa said ‘The validity of the budget presented by previous BJP Government headed by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is for three months. Following the formation of new Government, new budget should be presented, as it is not possible to allocate funds for the programmes without new outlay. However, BJP leaders are acting like fools without knowing the process.”

Mysuru has a big history in whole State, with Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar having the credit of creating an egalitarian system even when there was no democracy and Constitution, and implemented reservation, laying the path for a democratic system. The independent India saw leaders like former Chief Minister late D. Devaraja Urs, Tulsidasappa, B. Rachaiah and Sahukar Channaiah who showed a better path. Now, we have been following in the footsteps of Chief Minister Siddharamaiah, said Dr. Mahadevappa.

City Congress President R. Murthy said ‘All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, who is also State in-charge, has aimed to build a full-fledged Congress Bhavan in the city within the next two years. Ministers Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa and K. Venkatesh, who are from Mysuru district, should cooperate in this regard, he urged.
