City College hosts two-day webinar on National Education Policy-2020

Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, in association with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Mysuru, had organised a two-day webinar on ‘National Education Policy (NEP)-2020’ recently.

The aim of the webinar was to provide awareness and dissemination of various policy highlights and implications of National Education Policy-2020 among all the stakeholders.

During the webinar, the speakers highlighted about the implementation strategies and the proposed reforms with a new paradigm shift. This included radical reforms to streamline the existing education system with mandatory requirements for education in 21st century.

The inaugural address and salient features of the NEP-2020 was shared by Dr. M. Shivakumar, Principal, GSSSIETW. This webinar was hosted in-house with internal resource persons from the Department of CSE. 

Dr. S. Meenakshi Sundaram, Professor & Head, Department of CSE, GSSSIETW, spoke about the overview on curriculum and pedagogy, regulation and accreditation on NEP-2020 and emphasis on the important reformations made   in the NEP-2020.

Dr. P. Raviraj, Professor, Department of CSE, who gave the welcome address, highlighted about the salient features about the Optimal Learning Environments for Innovation and Research opportunities in NEP.

Dr. K.S. Gururaj, Associate Professor, Department of CSE, GSSSIETW, conveyed the important transformations proposed regarding the Professional Education and Leadership for Higher Education in NEP-2020. Over 300 stake holders, including all the faculty members of GSSSIETW, interested students, alumnae and parents of GSSSIETW attended the webinar. The event concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. J. Jayanth, Associate Professor, Department of ECE, GSSSIETW.
