After much hue and cry, MCC has finally triggered the online property tax collection from this financial year.  However, a public notification would have been better for the information of tax- payers. Still, the MCC Zonal Offices are busy with the initial hiccups of the software and are sorting out the same successfully. 

 Property holders are asked to produce the previous year’s tax paid challan copy, Corporation or MUDA-approved plan and the Completion Report (CR) given thereof.  With these particulars, the concerned Zonal Offices will generate a single page challan and at the first instance, property holders are required to pay through cash or by cheque. 

 A Property Identification Number (PID No.) is generated which as per MCC can be used from subsequent years to remit tax online.  Still at MCC Zonal Office 5 in Metagalli, the system had a bug and cheque payment was not reckoned, which was sorted out later. 

 Revenue Supervisors Siddarth and his team were guiding the public and seen helping people and my special thanks to him.  Only hitch is the bank time should synchronise with MCC Zonal Office timings, which can also be taken care of in coming days. 

Finally, MCC moves with online system of property tax collection !
