City cricketer dies during match at Chennai

Mysore/Mysuru: A cricketer from city reportedly collapsed while bowling during a match at Chennai and died on Friday (Feb. 17).

The deceased cricketer is Lalith Kumar (38), a resident of Mandi Mohalla, who a part of Ghanchi Samaj cricket team, which had gone to Chennai.

He leaves behind his wife, two children and a host of relatives and friends.

Lalith was bowling when he suffered severe chest pain, collapsed on the ground and died at about 11.30 am on Feb. 17.

Last rites were performed at the foot of Chamundi Hill yesterday, according to sources.
