City dancer Yamuna Srinidhi bags Karnataka Women Achiever’s Award

Mysuru: Dancer, art and culture promoter Yamuna Srinidhi from the city has bagged ‘Karnataka Women Achiever’s Award – 2018′ for her work in the field of art and culture in India and USA. She was conferred the award at Hotel Taj in Bengaluru, recently.

Yamuna also is a popular movie and TV actor having done 12 serials and 22 movies with the leading actors from the Kannada movie industry.  She teaches dance to the financially under privileged kids in the rural areas. She is creating a cultural bridge between US and India by conducting workshop, master seminars so the students can learn the art right from the source.

She has been bestowed with several other awards like “Akkamahadevi Award” from Government of Karnataka, “Academic Counsellor” award at Karnataka State Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University, Distinguished Citizen awards from two Mayors of USA and Kannada Sahitya Parishat Award in 2010.

Yamuna says, “Recognitions and awards serve as a constant reminder of our increased responsibilities towards the preservation and promotion of our art forms.”
