City doctor holds International Healthcare Summit in Bengaluru

Mysuru:  Indian healthcare system is witnessing rapid changes with new key initiatives introduced by the State and Central governments.

The healthcare system is complex because of fragmented delivery framework by Central and State governments and private agencies, factors adding to the complexity are over growing population with low healthcare GDP expenditure leading to increase in out-of-pocket payments and integrating various systems of medicine.

Dr. Ali from Mysuru, founder of www.icareforbillion.com and a Consultant Surgeon at JSS Hospital, who holds an MBA degree in International Healthcare, Germany, recently organised an International Healthcare Summit-2018, in Bengaluru at Narayana Health (NH) City. This is for the first time such a Summit has been organised in Karnataka by a doctor from Mysuru.

Delegates from 21 countries participated including Russia, USA, UK, Saudi Arabia, Hungary, France, China, Australia, Germany, Africa, Romania, South America and Dominican Republic. Students of Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Allied Health and faculty from healthcare institutions and medical colleges were present.

At the Summit, Dr. Devi Shetty, Chairman of Narayana Health, spoke about Indian healthcare system and NH story; Dr. Ali Chaired the panel discussion on access to healthcare in India; Divya Ramaswamy, Senior Faculty, LAICO – Aravind Eye Care System, spoke about Arvind eye care model.

Dr. Rainer Sibbel, Professor of IHM Germany and M.R. Aga Sultan, Chairman of Laureate Education and Welfare Foundation, were the panellists.
