Mysuru, Aug. 17 (VVH&VNS)- The Department of Youth Empowerment & Sports (DYES) felicitated city gymnasts who won medals in the National-level Gymnastics Championship (Acrobatics Trampoline and Tumbling) held at Dehradun in Uttarakhand recently.

Mysuru’s Anvi Harisat won gold medal in the U-12 category, Arpit Talagudi won bronze in U-14 category and Kavan won bronze in V tumbling in the U-17 category.

In Sports Acrobatics Group Competition for 13-19 years age category, R. Rakesh, Shangowda, B.M. Kavan and R. Tanmay won bronze medal.

The Mysuru team stood third in Overall Championship. Prize-winning gymnasts were felicitated by DYES Assistant Director Bhaskar Nayak.

The medal winners in the National Championship will be taking part in the Indian Camp to be held in Goa during September to select gymnasts for International Championship, according to a press release.
