January 17, 2018

Mysuru: An interaction and awareness programme on Employees Provident Fund (EPF) organised by Mysuru Hotel Owners Association, Mysuru Hotel Owners Charitable Trust and Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) was held at the Hotel Owners Association premises in Krishnamurthypuram here this morning.

The programme was inaugurated by Provident Fund (PF) Department Assistant Commissioner Manoj Prabhu.

Speaking on the occasion, Manoj Prabhu said that the entire PF services and process had gone online and added that one need not stand in long line to get their works such as registration, payment etc., done but could do it with a click of the mouse.

Stating that the PF is the right of an employee, he said that it is the responsibility of the employer to register his employees to PF as it would be of great benefit to them (employees).

He said that out of 12% which is being deducted from the salary of an employee for PF, 8.33% would go for their pension scheme and asked the hotel owners to register the names of their employees.

PF Department Enforcement Officer Anand, who also spoke said that there has been a lot of changes in PF services since about two months and added that PF services should be taken by all hotel owners as they employ a lot of people.

Stating that employees now-a-days were looking for benefits from their employees, Anand said that the employees would move to different places if employers deny them benefits such as PF, ESI etc.

A lot of awareness is being created on PF services and a lot of complaints were being received by the employees pertaining to PF and called upon hotel owners who have not registered with EPFO to register at the earliest.

Mysuru Hotel Owners Association President C. Narayanagowda, who presided, said that there were 540 registered members in the Association and regretted that only 50 members were attending the programme which was very much important to them.

Mysuru Hotel Owners Charitable Trust Hon. President Ravi Shastri, Hon. Secretary Subramanya R. Tantri, Mysuru Hotel Owners Association Hon. Secretary A.R. Ravindra Bhat and others were present at the programme.
