City MMA athletes win 17 medals at Bengaluru Open Championships

Mysuru: MMA athletes of Academy of Martial Science (AMS), Mysuru, have won a total of 17 medals (6 gold, 6 silver, 5 bronze) at the 7th Bengaluru Open MMA National Championships held in Bengaluru recently. The event was sanctioned by MMA India National Federation and hosted by Association of Mixed Martial Arts Karnataka (AMMAK). The event played host to more than 200 youths, junior and senior athletes from across the country.

Team AMS and Smite is trained by IMMAF certified coaches Kiran, Kavyashree, Samarth Vikram and Ayan Ali and mentored by Kru. Vikram, Founder-Director, Academy of Martial Science.

Namrata: Female Youth B, 61.2 kg category – silver medal; Afza: Female Youth B, 52.1 kg category – bronze medal; Areez: Male Youth B, 52.1 kg category – silver medal; Maseeha: Female Youth B, 70.3 kg category – gold medal; Samarth Vikram: Junior Bantam Weight – gold medal; Ravikumar: Senior Feather Weight – gold medal; Jhenkar: Senior Feather Weight – silver medal; Preetham: Junior Straw Weight – gold medal; Harshith: Senior Light Weight- gold medal; Shreeshan Dharmaveera: Junior Welter Weight- gold medal; Yaseer: Junior Welter Weight – silver medal; Sudhan Jain: Junior Feather Weight – silver medal; Akshatha Shanbhogue: Female Fly Weight – bronze medal; Aneeq Pasha: Senior Fly Weight – silver medal; Rishi: Senior Welter Weight – bronze medal; Vishwas: Senior Light Weight – bronze medal; Ayan Sharif: Light Heavy Weight – silver medal and Suprith Srikanta: Feather Weight – Quarter Finalist.
